General FAQ's

You need a lot of information about me and my qualifications before I work for you, why is this?

Proof of qualifications has been necessary for some time now, HSE requires that we prove the validity of credentials in writing before people arrive to work onsite.

Will my Trade qualifications/documentation be verified with the issuing authority?

Yes, qualifications / documents are verified by UK Engineering Recruitment, to ensure that we are complying with requirements of the HSE.

I am working away from home, who pays for my accommodation?

Accommodation allowances are paid into your wages, it is your responsibility to ensure payment to the Hotel / Guest house.

Can I get any help finding accommodation near the site?

If you need help we will assist you in finding suitable accommodation, at the correct price, as close to site as possible, to the best of our ability.

Do you book the accommodation for me?

No we do not book any accommodation places. We will provide you with the telephone number/s of the places concerned and inform you of costs involved. It will be your responsibility to ring and book the relevant accommodation. We always ask you to ring quickly so that any availability is not lost.

What if I get to the accommodation and I require something different or better?

You can change your accommodation if you wish, after all, you are paying for it out of your allowance, we only wish to make sure you have somewhere to “lay your head” when you first arrive.

Do you pay accommodation allowance?

Yes accommodation allowance will be paid and will vary from contract to contract.

I am travelling a long way and have to be on site at 07:45, can I have accommodation the night before I start work?

Yes, you can have accommodation the night before you start work BUT. We will not cover accommodation on the night of your last day of work so you should leave your accommodation on that morning with all your bags in your car and ensure the payments are up to date.

I am on nightshift, do I have to drive straight home after my last shift?

We do not expect (nor would we wish) any person to drive any distance directly following a nightshift – in this case we will cover an extra accommodation to allow you to get some sleep before you drive home, we may however check with the establishment that you did actually sleep before driving home.
